We live in a challenging and rapidly changing world and for our 2023 conference we are delighted to welcome Rev Dr Mark S. Burrows to explore how contemplative wisdom might help us. He says:
“We recognise our broken world, but also the light which shines in the darkness of our lives – ‘a treasure held in earthen vessels’ (2 Corinthians 4v7). How do we come to glimpse the inner radiance we (and all others) carry in our brokenness? And what might this wisdom mean for how we learn to flourish from day to day, given the anguish and suffering that define our times?”
With medieval visionaries Meister Eckhart and Julian of Norwich; a chorus of contemporary poets including Rainer Maria Rilke, Wendell Berry, Leonard Cohen and others, and the visual arts, we will explore how the “cracks” open us to an inner radiance.
