Lent Retreat at Whalley Abbey : ‘Oneness’
To Sunday 27 March 2022
Lent Retreat at Whalley Abbey – 25th to 27th March 2022
Alex Holmes who is the Christian Meditation co-ordinator for Scotland is leading our retreat on the theme ‘Oneness’.
‘The essence of Christian prayer is not dialogue but union, oneness. The tradition that we follow, calls us both to understand and to experience our prayer as silent communion within our own heart. Union brings us to communion, that is, to a oneness discovered within ourselves but which leads us to oneness with God and to openness with all. It is a communion that is indescribably enriching, because it takes us right out of ourselves, beyond ourselves into union with all, with the All, with God.’ (John Main).
Thank you to all those who have booked a place for the retreat in March. Currently there are still eight rooms available. These are twin bedded rooms. If you would like to book a place please contact Cameron on cdsa03@gmail.com
When the list is full, I will then operate a reserve waiting list. Please see the flyer here: https://mcusercontent.com/0fffcce9c916323e8d0de17c6/files/f2af5459-c238-60df-cfdc-ea0c0f36a457/WhalleyAbbeyRetreat.pdf
The suggested cost will be in the form of a donation to CMC. Those who feel unable to afford the full cost of the retreat can make an application for a bursary which the management group will consider. Please do not feel put off in reserving a place on the retreat by cost, we are a fellowship and seek to support one another.
