National communities around the world have recently received an important update from the WCCM Board of Trustees, the international community which is completely separately to WCCM in the UK. It is chaired by Angelene Chan and includes Bertrand Bouhour, Janet Robbins, Mark Hansen, Fabrice Desmarescaux and Fr Laurence.
There have been a number of important changes one of which is the appointment of Kris Albinski as Executive Director, thus freeing up Fr Laurence to focus on leading us spiritually and teaching. Kris has already introduced strategic plans, new organisational structures and improved communication which are essential for the global community to thrive as the community grows.
One of the main focuses is to place WCCM on a more sustainable, secure and balanced financial footing with an intention to create new roles in finance, fundraising and human resources. The vision is of a partnership, with all national communities offering WCCM whatever support they can. In this, gratitude is expressed not only for financial support but also for time, expertise and mentorship.
We are asked to walk together as one global community with open hearts, trusting the Spirit who continues to guide and unite us in silence, service and love. There is a lot to be done and in sharing the essence of the letter I hope to make you aware that changes are underway to enable WCCM to better respond to the demands and challenges of an expanding community. If you would like to read the full letter or feel moved to offer your help, please get in touch with me.
